Magnum Martínez became the big champion of the first stage of the Californian tour “Monster Energy – Sun Diego – Matix Pro”, an event that took place last weekend at Seaside Reef, Cardiff (California, USA).
He beat Austin Ware, Tedd Navarro and Gabe García in the final. The first event of the 2008-2009 tour was double rated, and with this triumph the member of the Quiksilver International team gained the top of the ranking.
The next stage of the Monster Energy – Sun Diego – Matix Pro will take place at Ocean Beach on October 24-25.
GOOD PERFORMANCE AT PONTO LOCO

The first days of September, Magnum was participating in the Vans Ponto Loco, a two-stars event of the WQS tour which took place in Carlsbad, California. With a very good performance, the Venezuelan surfer went to the quarters and obtained the ninth position on the general clasification.
Magneto caught the media attention and appeared in one of the press releases of the Northamerican ASP official site. One of Magnum’s best performings occured in the fourth round, where he obtained a 9 and went to the quarters.
Magnum will be competing in the next WQS stages, at Santa Cruz, California (October 21-26) and at Puerto Escondido, México (November 12-16).
THE WAY TO MÉXICO
Magneto travelled to Mexico to participate in the Squalo Latin Pro, seventh stage of the ALAS tour organized by the Latin American Surfing Association. The event will take place in Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo on September 18-21.
With 14.700 points on his account, Mr. Magneto is on the ninth position of the ranking after he has participated in four of the five stages. With his triumph in Mar del Plata (Argentina) in January, the Venezuelan surfer made clear that he is a rival to be considered.

Magnum Martínez se coronó como el gran campeón de la primera fecha del circuito californiano “Monster Energy – Sun Diego – Matix Pro”, evento que se realizó el pasado fin de semana en Seaside Reef, Cardiff (California, USA).
En la final se impuso a Austin Ware, Tedd Navarro y Gabe García, quienes se escalonaron detrás de él en el podio. El primer evento del circuito 2008-2009 fue doble rated, y con este triunfo el integrante del team Quiksilver Internacional se adjudicó la cima del ranking.
La próxima fecha del Monster Energy – Sun Diego – Matix Pro será en Ocean Beach, durante los días 24 y 25 de octubre.
BUENA ACTUACIÓN EN EL PONTO LOCO
Durante los primeros días de septiembre Magnum estuvo compitiendo en el Vans Ponto Loco, evento dos estrellas del tour WQS que se realizó en Carlsbad, California. Con una muy buena actuación, el venezolano llegó a cuartos de final y se ubicó en la novena casilla de la clasificación general.
Con pasajes de gran surfing, Magneto logró llamar la atención de la prensa y así lo demostró el site oficial de ASP Norteamérica en uno de sus comunicados de prensa. Una de las mejores acciones del venezolano se pudo ver en la cuarta ronda, instancia en la que anotó un 9 y se aseguró el pasaje a cuartos de final.
Las próximas fechas del WQS donde estará compitiendo Magnum serán las de Santa Cruz, California (21 al 26 de octubre) y la de Puerto Escondido, México (12 al 16 de noviembre).
CAMINO A MÉXICO
Con motivo de la séptima fecha del tour ALAS organizado por la Asociación Latinoamericana de Surf, Magneto partió rumbo a México para tomar parte de las acciones del Squalo Latin Pro, evento que se realizará del 18 al 21 en las olas de Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo.
Con 14.700 puntos en su cuenta, Mr. Magneto se ubica en el noveno puesto del ranking después de haber participado en cuatro de las cinco fechas disputadas. Con un triunfo en en Mar del Plata (Argentina) durante el mes de enero, el venezolano dejó en claro que siempre es un rival a tener en cuenta.
