Brazil Dominates at ISA WSG, Secures Six Olympic Spots

Brazilian surfers reigned supreme at the 2024 ISA World Surfing Games, the final qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Gabriel Medina and Tatiana Weston-Webb claimed gold and silver medals, respectively, while Team Brazil secured the most Olympic slots (6) for Surfing at the next Olympic Games.

Notably, five American nations secured spots in the top 10 team rankings, led by champions Brazil, with Peru (5th), the United States (8th), Canada (9th), and Costa Rica (10th) following.

Additionaly, the ISA WSG distributed the final 14 Olympic slots (8 women, 6 men), with two awarded to Brazil’s Tainá Hinckel and Peru’s Sol Aguirre (women’s shortboard) and one to Alonso Correa (men’s shortboard).
