Panama is ready to host the most important Surfing event in the American continent from August 7 to 13, in Playa Venao, which will receive more than 200 athletes from 17 nations for the 2022 Panama PASA Games.
This competition will have the participation of the Open (short board), Longboard, SUP Surf (paddle surfing) and SUP Races categories, both for Men and Women, where each national delegation can bring teams of up to 14 members.
The confirmed countries so far are Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.
The last edition of the PASA Games was held in Lima, Peru, in the waves of Punta Rocas, and the defending champion is Peru, who returned this year with a team loaded with talent in search of retaining their title.
Playa Venao has a powerful sand bottom wave, which, depending on the tide, offers waves that break to the right and left with excellent walls to maneuver or perfect tubes of variable size.
This beach is located in the province of Los Santos, and the area offers a wide variety of hotel options, restaurants and many other amenities for all visitors, in harmony with the natural magic of the area.
Visitors to Playa Venao will be able to enjoy a variety of activities in addition to the competitions, starting with the Opening Ceremony and its traditional Ceremony of the Sands, next Sunday, August 7, starting at 4:00 pm (Panama time).
Additionally, hotels and restaurants in the area will offer concerts and other recreational activities.
