The CLARO OPEN 2015 will Crown the new Pan American Surfing champions
This will be the first test towards the qualifiers of Lima 2019
The great waves of Punta Rocas are ready to receive all the participant athletes of the máximum surfing contest of the Americas.
Since the last edition of the Games, in Guadeloupe Island 2011, the outlook for surfing and its goal to become an Olympic sport, has notabily changed, when our sport was accepted to be part of the next Pan American Games Lima 2019.
During the eleventh Pan American Surfing Games, the authorities of PASA and the national federations in attendance will the start the discussions to decide the way to qualify to Lima 2019.
Karin Sierralta, President of PASA, said: “Its a pleasure to see so many talented athletes in a great wave like Punta Rocas. This event will be a great showcase of talent . Besides, this will be the first step to decide how the athletes will qualify to the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. Welcome everyone to Lima, Peru, we have some exciting days of competition ahead!”
